The Library charges only the item's replacement cost. A processing fee, which was once charged in addition to the replacement cost, no longer is applied. Processing fees for lost items were eliminated as of July 1, 2023.

When an item is lost, replacement cost will be billed 28 days after the due date. If replacement cost is paid and the item is found, a refund can be issued: 

  • if the returned item and refund request are made within 90 days of replacement cost payment
  • if the receipt for replacement cost payment is presented
