Hello!

When you apply for a library card online and receive a 6-digit library card number, this is your temporary card number.  This temporary barcode will allow you to place a hold, and use many of our eResources, but our eMedia, like Libby, hoopla and cloudLibrary, are not available to temporary card holders. You will need a full permanent library card in order to use eMedia.

The list of resources available with a temporary libary card number are most of the databases in the box "A tp Z List of Databases" on https://cityofpasadena.libguides.com/Databases. Any of the databases marked with either of the following icons are available remotely with a temporary library card number:

Freely accessible from any location or  image of library card

In order to use the full benefits provided to our patrons, please come in to any Pasadena Public Library location during operating hours; bring photo ID and we will give you a full permanent library card you can use anywhere, anytime, for anything we offer!
