As of June 15, 2021, the guidelines for face coverings have changed. Here's a little more information:

Do members of the general public have to wear a face covering in the Library?

Fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a face covering in most indoor settings, including libraries. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidance allows for the general public to self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry.  By not wearing a mask, library patrons are ‘self-attesting’ that they are fully vaccinated.  Fully vaccinated people may choose to wear a face covering inside the library, but they are not required to do so.

Where can someone get vaccinated?

There are many sites offering vaccinations.  We encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.  Site listings are updated regularly here:

Why are City employees still wearing face coverings?

City employees must wear a face covering regardless of vaccination status due to Cal/OSHA regulations.
