We can help you with your account! If you already have an account with us, you should not complete the self-registration for a temporary card. No matter what, we can help you get access--contact us for help. We will ask for verifying information, such as name, address, telephone, and/or California DL/ID number to confirm we are finding your account. We can update expired accounts*, make changes to address and phone, or reset/verify your PIN, if necessary, and provide you with your barcode for using our resources.
*Library cards expire: full permanent cards expire every three years; Guest cards expire after one year. We can renew your card if it is expired: just contact us for help.
Ways to contact us:
- Telephone: Call any Pasadena Library location during open hours
- Ask Us! (email) request
- Live Chat -- Live chat with library staff is currently only available on a limited basis; when live staff are not available to monitor, there is a chat "bot" connecting to relevant FAQs, and you can use the bot to submit a ticket to staff for response if you don't find the answer you are looking for
If you don't know your card number, and have misplaced your card:
- Please contact library staff using any of the above to get assistance.
- Applying using the online self-registration for at Temporary Card will not provide access to eMedia (Libby, cloudLibrary, Hoopla). You will need a Guest or permanent card, which is a physical card with a full 14-digit barcode.
- A replacement card will be provided to you at no charge. Please be ready to show photo ID when replacing a lost card.
- If your card is not misplaced but is suspected lost outside your possession or stolen, please let us know as soon as possible. We want to protect the safety of your account, so we will mark your card as lost and make the lost card number invalid.
